Tiva Wallon Interview

Today at Fallen Angel Reviews we have the opportunity to speak with Tiva Wallon. Hello Tiva, please take a seat and allow the readers to learn a bit more about you and your books.

Tiva, why don’t you begin by telling your readers what your routine is like once you get out of bed and begin your day?
My day usually begins at 2:30 AM, yes even before the rooster! LOL! I hold a full time job so I report for duty at 4 AM and work until 1 PM. After I arrive home, I hit the computer, writing for about three hours. I fix dinner for my hubby and I. Now if my hubby watches football, then I will go back and work on the computer for a couple more hours. If he doesn't watch sports, then we spend some time together, watching TV or what ever. I am usually in bed by nine or ten PM. Yes I know, I can hear it now, but that's only four hours sleep! What can I say, I'm an insomniac!

I want to say congrats to the new contract with Red Rose Publishing on Under The Red Moon. It must feel great to find a home for your work. I believe it is horror/erotica. It sounds like a great read. Can you give your readers a sneak peek into the storyline?
Thanks! I heard so much about RRP from some of my author friends. I know I'm going to love it there. The blurb below, tells it all. Mind you now, this novel is only for the mature reader with a thirst for erotic/horror with a twist! Enjoy!

As the eldest son, the Alpha leader ordered Elex to increase the royal bloodline. The high council spent a great deal of time researching human females, and selected Savena Chambers. As far as the council was concerned, she was perfect. All Changelings knew it was forbidden to mate during a Red Moon, doing so, and producing an offspring, would eliminate their species from the Earth. To ensure this from happening, Elex had to be successful planting his seed deep within Savena.

Elex managed to seduce Savena and bring her to a secluded place, where he intended on mating with her. As he sheathed himself deeply into her wetness, something overcame him, something he’d thought long since gone…a conscious. Looking into her crystal blue eyes, he knew he couldn’t condemn her to the horrors that would lie before her, if he were to impregnate her. Yet, if he didn’t do as ordered, the penalty for betrayal was death. His master would order the hunt, and his brothers would feast on his flesh and Savena would be passed to the next son in line, Ashton; a sadistic, insane product of his father’s one night stand.

Savena couldn’t help falling in love with Elex. He was a lonely soul forced to live a life he hated more than anything. He was tall, muscular, and more handsome in real life, than in her dreams. Strange dreams she had, dreams of her becoming a sleek, white wolf that ran wild, and free. Dreams of a massively large, black wolf sensing her insatiable need to be tasted, and mated with. Feeling him slide deeply into her, immediately she came to know he needed her, needed her love, her arms, and her understanding. It didn’t matter to her, that deep within him, a savage beast lie in wait of a full moon.

Join Savena as Elex leads her through an erotic journey of countless, bloody battles, leaving a trail of death across an ocean, and the United States, all in an effort to take her to Hell, where they’d climb the Devil’s Pinnacle, and at the top, they would mate, Under the Red Moon.

You have quite a number of books for the readers to choose. Where do you draw your inspirations to write these great stories?
I have a terribly vivid imagination, not to mention my muse always works over time! Seriously, I can create some sort of story no matter where I am. Sometime these stories will wake me in the middle of the night, or I might be at work. I'm never without pen and paper! If my muse speaks to me, then I make sure to jot everything down so I won't forget.

I believe you are working on a six book series. Could you tell us a little about the series?
Actually this series has been upped to nine books. I call it my "Donovan Dynasty Series." Each book is about a member of the Donovan family. Each individual has their own story to tell. So far I have Donovan's Promise, Donovan's Way and A Donovan to Love. And I just finished the forth book titled, A Donovan Gift. Each novel has a different heat rating as well. (Let’s just say the Donovan men are very good!) If you like, I can add a blurb for each? Just let me know.

Do you recall the very first story you ever wrote?
Oh my yes! It was a horribly written story about an ice skater wanting to compete at the Olympics. A terrible accident took away her dream. I wrote it about thirty years ago and can't believe that I actually sent it to a publisher for consideration! Of course it was rejected. I think maybe one day, one long day away, I might look at it again and see if there is anything I can work with.

What would you say makes a good book to you?
Lots of action, a good plot with characters I can love or dislike by the end of the book. I don't care for wordiness. Too much description and run on irritates me.

If you had the opportunity to pen a book with anyone living or dead, who would you choose?
Alison Peters, a woman I used to work with. She's the reason I became published in the first place. She encouraged me, pushed me and kicked me in the fanny a few times to help motivate me. Alison has passed on from lung cancer about five years ago and I still miss her to this day. She was an inspiration and a very good friend.

Name three things you look for in the other person.
Honesty, sincerity and for the person to be themselves.

I read you love anything on the water. Not only do you and I share the same color, but I love fishing and boating, too. What is your most memorable fishing story that will always stick in your mind?
Actually this is funny. My husband and I were out on the water. We were about twenty miles out so I decided to...well...fish nude. I hooked into something big, too big for me to pull in so my hubby took over. Eventually the line broke and we never saw the fish. We decided we had enough sun and as we turned to go into the cabin, there was a huge pelican sitting on the top part of the seat. And on top of my bathing suit! I tried to shoo the bird away, it tried to bite me. I used one of the seat cushions, it bit the material. My hubby used the end of the fishing pole to gently prod the bird away and it too, was bitten. We couldn't go into the cabin or start the boat. Finally my hubby took off his bathing suit, soaked it with water and threw it at the bird. That made the pelican fly to the top of the windshield. I was able to retrieve our bathing suits while my hubby started the boat. We figured the pelican would fly away but it sat there for the entire ride back to the marina. Once there, it flew away, leaving a huge gift all over the windshield!

With your love of photography, you have just been approached by National Geographic to do the cover and photo spread of their next issue. What spectacular location and captivating shots would you choose to grace their magazine?
It would be a toss-up. I would love to go to New Zealand or Australia and the shots would be of Mother Nature in all her glory!

Of the places you have traveled in the U.S. and Europe, what area would you say was the best ever to visit?
Switzerland! I love everything about it, the food, the chocolate, the people, the chocolate, the scenery, the chocolate...did I mention I loved the chocolate?

You are approached to star in any movie made, which movie would you choose?
NCIS with Mark Harmon!

Tiva, would you like to share your website, myspace or blog with your readers?
Sure! http://tivawallon.bravehost.com and http://www.myspace.com/tivawallon

You have just learned that your editor is arriving with fifteen dinner guests to talk about your latest book. What would you serve on the menu that sounds yummy?
Oh that's easy! I would take them all out to our property; have a barbecue of ribs, chicken, burgers and dogs. We'd have fresh corn on the cob, my very special, and fought over, baked beans and a nice salad. Later we would sit around the fire, have some wine or drink of choice. We might even have some S’mores and roast marshmallows.

Is there anything that frightens you like heights, spiders, or anything like that?
Snakes are gross. I can handle small spiders but not those big ones!

Tiva, I have enjoyed our talk and thank you for taking time to share some insight about you and your fabulous books.
Thank you for having me. I enjoyed the interview! I have 3 more books completed and ready to go. So I hope to have quite a few out this year.
