Good morning,
Linda. Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews. It is so good to have you with us today. Why not grab a chair, get cozy, and let the readers know what is happening with
Linda Wisdom.
Since we last spoke, I have had the opportunity of reading,
Wicked By Any Other Name, and I loved it immensely. Anastasia Romanov and Trevor Barnes are such incredible characters. There were moments that I was in awe with their dialogue and actions. I love the way their chemistry develops. As always there were some delicious scenes that left me mesmerized!
Why not tell us a bit about
Wicked By Any Other Name?
Wicked continues the tale, but featuring Stasi, our sweet hearted witch, who’s sued in Wizards Court for alienation of affection by a mortal woman. As if that’s not enough, Stasi’s fighting her attraction for wizard attorney Trev, harm being done to Moonstone Lake, upcoming Samhain coupled with a lunar eclipse and Mercury Retrograde. Stasi is also finding herself the source of fear as the locals start seeing her as someone evil and not the wonderful witch she’s always been known as. Stasi’s determined to find out who’s leading the town hysteria and thanks to help from Trev, Jazz, Blair, Nick and Irma, she’s able to do so.
Can I ask where you come up with the characters’ names in your books?
I sometimes think they name themselves. When they pop into my head they have their name and background ready. I also do research to come up with what would be their original name and it’s always very different from what they presently use.
When is your favorite time to compose?
Afternoons. Mornings I catch up with email, etc. and after lunch I can settle in more. And I’m also creative during the evening.
Growing up, did you ever keep a journal and write notes about the stories you would love to write?
Always! Just ask my friends who loved to read whatever stories I came up with. Funny thing is, I’ve heard from friends in high school that I haven’t talked to in years and they remember my writing from back then.
What’s on the agenda for
Linda in the upcoming months?
I have two more witch books to write. Thea, the diva romance novelist, you met in Hex Appeal and Maggie, who’s a bounty hunter witch you’ll briefly meet in Hex in High Heels.
Do you 'lose' your track of thought, story thread or whatever emotional pitch you happen to be at when you do leave your story for a bit? If so, what do you do to get that leave of emotion back?
Oh yes, that’s happened more than once. When it does, I go to the beginning of the book and read and by the time I get to the empty space I’m ready to go again.
In what order do you write? For example starting beginning to end, combining parts, in random order or in development cycle?
While I pretty much write beginning to end, I know what will happen more in the end than in the middle. If I hit a writer’s wall, I will skip a scene and move on then go back to that scene.
Do you listen to music or watch TV when you write or do you need it to be completely quiet?
Quiet drives me nuts. The TV is always on with favorite DVDs or a program.
When you're really tired, do you keep pushing on with story or give it a rest?
I give it a rest. I don’t think anyone is their best when they’re tired and always best to be as fresh as possible.
If you could date any male character from any book, who would it be and why?
Ooh, that’s a toughie. But are you talking about my books or someone else’s? Someone else’s would be Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden. Maybe I could pick up some tips. Of my own, I’d say JT, who’s coming up in Thea’s book and a very good reason for my choice there. That guy is totally hot!
Would you like to share your website or myspace where readers can visit you?
www.myspace.com/lindawisdombooks I hope to have my website up later this year which will be www.lindawisdom.com
You have been given the opportunity to visit either New Zealand, Holland, or Australia, which one do you choose to visit and who do you plan to accompany you?
Yikes. Toss up between Australia and New Zealand, but I’d say Australia. And if I name one friend another will hate me, so I’ll just have a lottery to see who goes with me.
You have planned for a lovely night out with your loved ones but when your order arrives; your meal is a disappointment. Do you make a point to tell the waitress/waiter, or just let it slide?
I would say something. It’s happened before and I’ve always sent it back.
Do you have a favorite pair of shoes that you cannot do without?
Definitely! I have a pair of yellow flats I totally love and actually wear a lot. They’re my idea of the basic black shoe and also a nice cheer up wearable. Although, you’d think it would be my bunny slippers, wouldn’t you?
Thank you so much for sharing time with us today,
Linda. It has been a pleasure and I wish you the best with your writing.
Thanks Linda!
