Rose Marie Wolf Interview

Hello Rose Marie and welcome to FAR. Pull up a chair and get cozy and allow the readers to learn a bit more about the supernatural and paranormal author of the Moon Series, Rose Marie Wolf.

How does the day begin for Rose Marie?
My day usually begins with a shower, then email. Sometimes, I can get a little writing in before I have to head to the day job, but not always. After a long day working in retail, I head home to my husband and try to do a little writing or promo. It’s not easy after a trying day.

We are eager to hear about your latest release. Can you share some insight with us?
My latest release, Dark Moon Magick, is the last book of the Moon Series. This novel is the conclusion of the werewolves Jason and Rose’s story. In it, Jason is on his own, trying to uncover the meaning behind his growing psychic powers, while discovering another secret to his past. Meanwhile, his mate Rose is very pregnant and uncertain if the father of her child is her husband…or the late Simon Conner, a crazed werewolf hunter who has plagued them for years. Not only does she have that problem to contend with, but some unexplained “accidents” are threatening her and her child. All in all, it’s a very thrilling conclusion to the Moon Series.

Rose Marie, you specialize in short stories about werewolves and vampires. Which one would you say has been your greatest story that likes to stick in your head?
There is one story that I have titled Brother’s Keeper. I have been working on getting it revamped, and possibly published as an e-book. When I began writing it, years ago, I had no direction. I just wrote off the top of my head. It was the first story I have ever done so with and I like the result. I think it has great potential.

Do you have to do much research in your writing?
I do as much research as I feel is necessary. My books are fantasy/fiction, so there’s a lot I can exaggerate or make-up in regards to werewolves and vampires and I like that. When it comes to getting technical with something, I do spend quite a bit of time looking up all the details.

Is your writing schedule hectic?
As mentioned before, I work in retail, so my schedule is never really set. I try to write whenever I can get available time and often that is few and far between. So yes, it is very hectic finding time to write and trying to squeeze in as much writing into that time.

How long does it normally take you to finish a book?
When I’m in the zone, I can have a book done in three to six months. Some books, like my first Moon Series book, Sweet Moon Dreams, or my upcoming paranormal romance, Changed, took a bit longer…years to be exact. It all depends really.

In your opinion, what are the three most essential ingredients of an excellent novel?
Well-rounded characters, suspense, and a believable plot. If a book lacks any of these qualities, then I won’t like it very much.

As an author, do you think it is important for a writer to stay in touch with his/her readers, and the growing trend of what they really like to read?
Yes, it is very important for a writer to remain approachable and stay in touch. I know as a reader I like to stay up-to-date on my favorite authors, even to the point of commenting on their blogs, emailing them and so on.

Can you give us your websites, as well as the links that we can find out about your books?
Website: www.rosemariewolf.com
Blog: rosemariewolf.blogspot.com
Myspace: www.myspace.com/rose_marie_wolf
Discussion Group: groups.yahoo.com/group/rosemariewolf

Do you have a household chore that you really hate doing?
I hate doing dishes. I can’t stand it. Ugh. I can’t wait until I can afford a dishwasher.

Congratulations! You just won a year off from work to travel anywhere in the world and write the story of your dreams. Where do you go, what type of book do you write, and what’s the title?
I would like to travel all over the United States in a RV, visiting each state. I’ve always wanted to do that. The book I would write would be something of a roadtrip story, perhaps with paranormal ties as I really enjoy writing that. As for a title, it would probably be something like Highway to Hell. I think that would be a great title for a paranormal novel where the characters travel across country, fighting evil or perhaps…causing it?

What is your all time favorite late night snack?
I like to snack on dill pickle chips. I don’t know why I like em, I just know I always have and whenever I crave a snack that’s what I grab.

You and five other best selling authors have thirty days to sell the most books. What stops would you pull out to beat the competition?
Well, if I had unlimited funds, you can bet I would be maxing out my credit cards to buy ad space to promote my books. I would be out there in Internet-land, posting as much as I could…heck, I would hire a team of publicists to do most of the work for me. I think that might help.

Is there anything off the top of your head that you would like to share with your readers?
I want to let everyone know that at my website, www.rosemariewolf.com, you can read a free Moon Series In-between short story. This story is about werewolf Aurora Mitchell and her introduction into college life…and her growing attraction for a fellow packmate. It takes place between Book 2, Blood Moon, and Book 3, Hunter’s Moon.

And, every month on my Yahoo group we have an Authors Day for all authors to join in and post unlimited excerpts and promos. Readers are encouraged to attend and chat with their favorite authors, and perhaps meet some new ones.

Thank you so much for sharing time with us today, Rose Marie. Please check out Rose Marie’s website to read more about her spellbinding books.
