Ella Vines Interview

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with author Ella Vines. Thanks for being here today Ella, welcome to FAR!

To start, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Yes, I'm an English instructor at the college level by day and an erotic romance author by night. ;)

Please tell readers a little bit about your current release, Her Dark Fairy.
This story is sort of an erotic fairy tale set in 1858 in Mississippi. A young woman finds a fairy in the woods, and romance ensues.

What inspired you to write Her Dark Fairy?
I just got curious about fairies and thought it would be fun to research their history a bit and write about them.

Is there a message in your story that you want readers to grasp?
Yes, love can be surprising.

What would you like to accomplish with your writing career?
I would like to entertain readers and push myself with each new work.

Can you tell us a little about Seduced by a Satyr, your upcoming release with Summerhouse Publishing?
A woman in mourning finds a satyr in a graveyard near her fallen war hero husband's tomb. She is afraid at first but finds herself attracted to him. The question is whether she can trust him and herself.

What is the best advice that anyone ever gave you?
Never, never give up. I think that was Churchill, but I like it.

While writing, how does the story develop for you? Do you go from start to finish or create scenes as they come to you?
For short stories, I just write, beginning only with a general concept. For novellas and novels, I outline a bit.

Has a review or comment ever changed your perspective on your work?
Yes, it has helped me deepen my work or see where something I have written has a unique spin.

Where do you hope to take your writing in the future?
I'm working on more historical erotic romance these days and stretching myself in other areas, too. I'll go wherever the muse leads.

Since everybody needs a break, even when doing something they love, how do you like to spend your time away from writing?
Taking walks, talking or playing with my daughter and husband or on family vacations.

We all have one, so tell us yours. What is your favorite comfort food?
Blueberry cobbler

Describe yourself in 5 words.
Thinking introvert fascinated by people.

Do you have a website or blog where readers can learn more about you and your works?

Thank you for taking time to speak with me today Ella.
