C. Elizabeth Interview

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with author C. Elizabeth. Thanks for taking time to talk with me today.
Thanks for having me, I've been looking forward to this.

To start, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, work full time as a paralegal by day and write by night. I enjoy lazy summer days on the back deck having barbeques and spending time with my family and friends.

Could you tell readers a little bit about your new release Absolute Obsession?
For 42 year old, Rose Gerbaldi, her life is getting somewhat tiresome and finds some time to herself reading a book. Little does she know that with each word read, fate is conspiring to ensure that inhumanly beautiful, 30 year old, British movie star, Michael Terrance, steps into her life.

Is there a message in your story that you want readers to grasp?
My hope is that the readers connect with Michael and Rose on a personal level and get inspiration from how Absolute Obsession came to be.

How long have you been writing?
I've only been writing since the latter part of 2009.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Finding the right words in certain situations. Some situations call for more elaborate words to bring a deeper meaning in that moment of the scene. I find words are most evasive when you attach an emotion to them.

What is the most interesting thing you've done in the name of research?
Asking people what they would do in a certain situation. The interesting thing was no one knew I was writing a novel, so they really weren't sure what was going on, if I was speaking personally or what. I got some pretty strange looks.

If you could pick any celebrity to be on the cover of your book, who would it be and why?
I haven't really thought about it actually and at this moment can't come up with one. Now if you asked my daughters they probably have a whole list.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
When I'm writing there has to be three tabs open on the internet at all times. 1. My thesaurus 2. The Quote Garden 3. The Best of Britain - The Americans' Guide to speaking British.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
That's an interesting question. I'm not sure, maybe when I finally saw Absolute Obsession in paperback.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?
Speak with caution, could cause philosophical confusion.

What's the most interesting obscure fact you know?
That I actually do love words.

Who are your favorite authors? Who inspires you?
V.C. Andrews and Stephen King are my favorites, but sometimes that changes if I'm reading another author. As for inspiration, I would have to say my characters inspire me, they speak to me when they want to be heard.

What can your fans look forward to in the next twelve months from you?
The next coming months are going to be interesting. There will be much more to look forward to.

Is there anything else you would like to add today?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all my readers for a wonderful journey thus far and am looking forward to continuing riding the wave with you.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us today!
Thanks much for having me.
