Dani, JeriAnn, Wade and Ken are best friends. It’s the summer of 1977; they have a lot to look forward to including high school graduation, their last summer together and college. Dani has had a crush on Ken since he moved to town. Ken has been the object of her dreams for years. She has an uneasy feeling with all the attention Ken is giving his new step-sister, JeriAnn, but chalks it up to imagination. Why wouldn’t Ken be close to JeriAnn? Their parents are alcoholics, so Ken and JeriAnn are all each other have.

They all look forward to graduation. Little did they know that night would change their lives forever. Ken’s dad is murdered and Ken is no where to be found. JeriAnn and Dani have secrets that could tear their friendship apart. Two decades later, that fateful night comes back to haunt them.

Best of All is one of the best stories this reviewer has read. It is a story that will have you crying, laughing, angry, hurt, happy and hopeful. All of the emotions that the characters feel, you feel. Janet Mills is an exceptional writer. She pulls you into her story and keeps you there until the last page is read. You become so absorbed in the characters lives that you actually come to care for them and you hate to see the story end. The dialogue and characters are strong and true to life. Best of All is a story that will take you back in time to your own teenage years. The insecurities we all felt and the feeling of falling in love for the first time. Best of All by Janet Mills is a story this reviewer HIGHLY recommends!
