Degrees of Separation: Falcon's Bend Series Book 1
Falcon Bend is a small town, a very quite and serene place to live. That is, until a new nightclub opens up and a dead body is found
A woman is found dead in Witmer Park and Lieutenant Pete Shasta and his partner Danny Vincent were called in on the homicide. She was one of the girls who worked for the new strip club in town called Danse de Minuit.
Audre Terlawney, owner of the nightclub is a very strange and secretive man. While questioning the girls at the club, Pete discovers that Audre has total control over ladies who work for him. They showed complete devotion to Audre, it was as if he owned them. Pete and Danny realize more was going on than just stripping. What are they hiding? Why was Melody, Audre's wife, so obviously afraid of her husband?
Before Pete and Danny can even begin to find answers, another girl is murdered and the evidence is pointing to Melody. Melody doesn't fit in with the rest of the crowd. She's quiet and bashful, not the kind of woman you would expect to be married to a man like Audre and certainly not what you'd find in a strip club. Detective Danny "Van Gogh" Vincent and Melody have an instant attraction to each other. But is she really interested, or just using her charms to throw the detective off the trail?
Karen Wiesner and Chris Spindler are two ladies who know how to write a spellbinding who done it that will have you hanging on their every word. I found myself totally absorbed with the characters and the plot in this tale of murder and mayhem. If this story were set to film it would make a great series and would definitely give shows like NYPD Blue and Law and Order a run for their ratings. Karen and Chris have created a story that will have you coming back for more. I look forward to reading the second installment in the series called Tears on Stone coming in 2005.
