While Others Sleep
Campbell Cody had worked for the Longview Police Department until her partner was killed in an unfortunate incident. Internal Affairs persuaded Campbell to look for another line of work. Now she works for her father, Yancy Cody owner of Cody Security.
Two victims were found dead on the same night. Both driving a Grand Am, the same make, model, and color. One victim is a wealthy lady who lived at Maple Trails retirement home, the other is a young woman known to the first victim. Were these accidents or something more? Could they be related?
Jackson Blade is an undercover agent, working on another case that parallels the other deaths. He joins up with Campbell to find a killer, when news reveals it was indeed murder.
Blade and Campbell are drawn together in ways they didn't expect. Both have been betrayed and used by love. Both have secrets they're not sure the other will accept, much less forgive. They fight their strong attraction for each other, until one night they can no longer resist the passion burning between them.
Who murdered Maida Livingstone and Stacie Holms? Campbell finds it hard to believe, as evidence leads to the most unlikely suspects.
This is a very intense story about murder, with a long cast of suspects, from family members and the age-old murder for inheritance, to possible drug related elements. Helen Myers has written a murder mystery filled with strong characters as well as a great plot. She gives very close detail to the events in this story and into the personalities of her cast. You will find yourself rooting for the hero and heroine. Will they find love and forgiveness in each other's arms? This is the type of book you want to take your time reading, so as not to miss any details. I recommend it highly to both the romance reader and the lover of suspense. I give Ms. Myers Five Angels for excellent writing. Enjoy!
