Mayan Nights
Deep in the wilds of the Yucatan jungle among the Mayan ruins lays the tomb of Shield Jaguar, once King of Pacal. Professor SinJin Twaine is a dark mysterious man. He is a renowned archaeologist and has spent four years looking for the tomb. At last, he had found it.
Tamara Martin was an up and coming archaeologist. She jumped at the chance to work with Professor Twaine, known as the Ivy League Beast. He was known for running his assistants off in the first few days. Expecting a white haired, eccentric old man, Tam wasn't prepared for SinJin, a man that looked like a god. He affected her in ways no man ever had. Tam understood now why he was also called Professor Sin.
SinJin is excited when his new assistant deciphers the hieroglyphs on the tomb. What he didn't expect was for her to be able to break through the wall he built around his heart after his wife left him.
As they uncover the secrets of the tomb strange things happen. Could there be some truth to the curse known to guard the tomb or was someone deliberately sabotaging the dig? Where did the voices come from that warned Tam and SinJin of danger?
As with all fairytales there has to be a storyteller, someone who knows how to hold a readers imagination as they spin a web to trap you between the pages. Therese MacFarland is brilliant at doing just that. SinJin is the kind of character that is sinfully sexy and handsome and gives women erotic ideas. He's also afraid of rejection, something his ex-wife had no trouble in dishing out. Tamara wasn't looking for love yet finds it deep in the heart of the jungle. Will Tamara and SinJin find what they're looking for, or will a curse as old as time stand in their way? Jack, another character in this story, throws a twist to the tale I found very surprising. Overall, I found this story to be very entertaining. I recommend this story to all readers, as you will find a little something for everyone. Enjoy!
