Feel The Heat

Mischa appeared on the doorstep of Rhad's castle in Romania at midnight. Rhad was a vampire-how could he resist this lovely, scantily clad woman who he found unconscious in her lacy slip and stiletto heels. Being a gentleman-a several-hundred-year-old gentleman-he picked her up and brought her inside where he gave her a hot bath and put her to bed.

When she wakes up, Mischa reveals that she has no memory of how she arrived at his castle, and that she is searching for her sister Rianna, who has disappeared. Although Rhad is drawn to Mischa, he resists the attraction-he does not want to subject her to the hell of the vampire life. However, he promises her that he will help her find her sister, and they start on a trek through the Romanian wilderness.

I liked the characters of Rhad and Mischa. Rhad is a vampire with a conscience, and he demonstrates his devotion to Mischa throughout the story. Mischa is a warm-hearted woman who cares about other people, even vampires. The consensual sex scenes are explicit and hot. I did enjoy it as a quick lunchtime read, although I thought the plot of the story was a bit superficial. However, the author packs a lot into its short 58 pages, and it really clips along.
