Marvel Allen is now the sole owner of Bird of Paradise Hawaiian Island Tours, having inherited it from her father. She's had the helicopters painted in a lovely dusty salmon pink color, with a Bird of Paradise painted on the tail. The company's pilots and tour guides wear a matching sarong as their uniform. Jack Christie, the son of Marvel's father's former partner in the business, newly returned to the Islands from the mainland, thinks it is all too girly for words-who ever heard of a self-respecting helicopter being painted dusty salmon pink??? After all, the business is half his-at least, that's what he is telling Marvel.
Marvel is sure that her father legally bought out Jack's father, so she cannot figure out what nefarious scheme Jack has in mind. But she does know that she's going to protect her business with all the energy in her very energetic body! All Jack knows is that he wants that very energetic body under his in the worst possible way...
This novel is written in a very lush and flowery style. A very florid style that describes the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands in great detail. Detail that makes you smell every perfumed flower, and feel every sensuous stroke. This story was quite interesting, and I greatly enjoyed the descriptions. It is obvious that the author really loves Hawaii. I've never visited the Islands, but when I do I plan to stay at the Maui Beach Hotel that the author describes in the book. Marvel and Jack really burn the sheets-but while the novel encompasses three very detailed, extremely erotic sex scenes between the two protagonists, they technically don't spend much time actually in a bed. This was a fun and fast read, embellished by an interesting location.
