Hawk Adams is a cocky young man with a spaceship. He has a Plan to become rich. He's going out to the Sapphire Quadrant and plans to salvage a legendary stash of space debris. Of course, that's before his spaceship is caught by the gravitational pull of a beautiful green planet-and he can't pull loose! Hawk crashes on the planet (after releasing an emergency beacon). He is rescued by the tree nymphs who live there. These nymphs are very ... eager ... to welcome a human male, but, frankly, Hawk just can't get excited about these women who look like pre-pubescent girls. The only woman on the planet he can get excited about is Tara, who has a body shaped like an adult human woman.
Tara is the daughter of a tree nymph and a spaceman who was trapped by the planet's gravity, just as Hawk was. She is considered large and awkward by all the other, sylph-like nymphs, and she doesn't have a very good self-image. Hawk sets about showing Tara just how lovely he thinks she is. But what will they do if the emergency beacon brings a rescue party to take Hawk away?
This was a fun read! It is a science fiction adventure story, with a significant amount of explicit sex! The main plot is fast paced and simple, with a suspenseful subplot. The hero and heroine are a bit superficially drawn, but are likeable and smart. The sex is mostly male/female within a love relationship, with some masturbation and oral sex. I really enjoyed the fact that Hawk demonstrated caring for Tara from the very moment he met her, rather than mere sexual attraction-although there was plenty of that too! I really liked this novel, and recommend it highly.
