Promises of Honor
Promises of Honor is the second book in Robin Maderich's Honor Trilogy. This book starts where the first book, Faith and Honor, ends. Although, Faith and Fletcher have survived what could have been their undoing with both having loyalties on opposite sides of the war, their love managed to survive what most would have given up on.
Now with the war behind them, they are on their way to start a new life where they can raise their son, Jonathon. During what was to be a brief stay in Philadelphia, a tragedy occurs. Faith is taken violently by a man who is not her husband. Upon learning of this event Fletcher will do what he must to avenge her honor. Numerous people hear the threats that Fletcher taunts his adversary with, so when the man comes up murdered, Fletcher is the first person the lawful citizens of Philadelphia accuse of the crime. How can Faith and Fletcher prove his innocence when all the evidence points to his guilt?
Although Promises of Honor is the story of Faith and Fletcher there is also the story of young Christian Delaney and Sara Corey. Christian, an ocean away from home searching for his true sire, meets golden-haired Sara, and their adventure will take them straight to Fletcher and Faith.
This second book in the Honor Trilogy was just as good as the first. Robin Maderich has given her readers a story of love, hope and most of all faith. Once again we are taken on a journey with Fletcher and Faith Irons. Faith's character is one readers will love because she is very strong and passionate. She will truly stand by her man even when time and destiny seem to be against them. Having finally been reunited with Fletcher she will not stand idly by and watch him be taken away again.
Each character in this book adds to the story. Christian and Sara are two heartwarming characters who add a bit of appeal. Ms. Maderich does an excellent job in giving them their own story along with Fletcher and Faith's.
The historical aspect in this novel is also one historical fans will appreciate. Once again we are pulled into the era right after the Revolution almost to the point of being there ourselves. Promises of Honor is highly recommended to all!!
