Gunsmith Series Book III: Crossroad

Boothenay Irons knew right away that the stranger who walked through the door of her shop was trouble. Although she was unnerved to find herself attracted to his swarthy complexion and unusual white hair, that was not what made her so uneasy, it was the power that radiated from him that left her on edge. A power much like her own, the ability to travel through time. Soon she would discover that he not only had the power, he had complete control over it and could come and go as he pleased. When he kidnaps her to help him fight a gang of outlaws 116 years in the future, Boothenay finds herself dependent on him, not only to get back home, but also to help her survive the extreme dangers of the new world. It will take every ounce of courage and determination Boothenay has to help Teagun save is mother and their land and stay alive in order to get back home to Caleb, the love she has left behind.

Teagun and his mother are bounty hunters, and they are the law in the vast desert called the Great Empty. When a dangerous group of outlaws take over their boarding house and hold his mother hostage, he has no choice but to look for help elsewhere. He could feel Boothenay's power when he went to her to fix his antique guns. He knew she was the only one who could help him. As Boothenay and Teagun battle the enemy, Boothenay also battles her fears of the future as she holds out hope that Caleb will somehow find her and bring her home again.

Crossroads is another wonderful story in Ms. Crigger's Gunsmith series. Boothenay is once again a very real and entertaining character that captivates the reader and brings them into her strange and exciting world. Though Caleb isn't as big of a character in this book as the previous ones, he can still make a girl sigh when he comes to rescue the woman he loves. This reviewer looks forward to seeing how his character changes and grows as the series continues and he begins to learn more about his powers. This series is an intriguing and highly entertaining group of stories and this reviewer is very anxious to read the next book, The Gunsmith Book 4: Six Shot.
