Protector of My Heart
Justus Roux’s Protector of My Heart is a fun story that borders on the
entertainment one might find with an adult version of the Saturday morning
cartoon. Ms. Roux tells the story of Robin, an Earth woman brought to the
planet Malka by a fierce and very amorous warrior Niro, with splendid style.
As the story begins, Robin has once again vainly attempted to engage her
husband Charlie in a romantic and creative session of lovemaking. Charlie is
your basic white bread type lover. He shows up but that’s about it.
Following a less than satisfying engagement with Charlie, Robin settles down
with a romance novel that, at a minimum, gives her dreams of a satisfying love
life.
Malka is a planet similar to Earth but with two warring factions: the dark
haired Dascons of which Niro hails from and the blond haired, rather evil
Larmats. Both cultures suffer from a dearth of women. In an attempt to
repopulate their planet, Niro is sent to Earth to abscond with two women. The
hope of Niro’s people is that if these two women survive, more will come and
alleviate the shortage of women on the planet. Added to the mix are the
Rundals, lizard like beings who not only have the advanced technology of
spacecraft, but can also determine whether or not the Earth and Malkan beings
can mate and produce healthy offspring.
Niro is a dream come true to Robin, a gorgeous, amorous and adventurous
warrior who becomes her protector. For Niro, Robin is also a perfect match in
her eagerness to explore his most sensual delights with him. For the fan or
believer of alien beings, the addition of the lizard-like Rundals adds a touch
of a sci-fi element.
Ms. Roux tells a decent story of alien abduction and blossoming love along
with some very steamy love scenes. Much of the language used by Niro and his
people is cartoonish and at times somewhat juvenile providing a fun sort of
read. It’s a good story to pick up on a Saturday morning and read aloud to
whom ever the reader may be waking up next to, barring its not your child!
