68 & Climbing
Fashion designer Annmarie Weston is working on a major assignment for retailer Myers and Bold when Pedroni and Son Construction starts working next door to her building. It's hot out and when the temperature rises, the shirts start coming off of the men on the construction crew. Now all Annmarie's designers want to do is ogle the men next door. Annmarie knows she has to put a stop to this, but she feels a little hypocritical as she is busy ogling one of the crew's members too. Nick Marone is the head of the company and he can't keep his eyes off the enticing Annmarie. Soon Annmarie and Nick are spending way too much time locked in each other's arms rather than working at their respective businesses. Annmarie is worried about her attraction for such a rough and tough man, and Nick is concerned that Annmarie only sees him as some kind of blue collar stud. He can't help comparing her to his ex-girlfriend, a society woman similar to Annmarie, who only wanted sex but nothing more from him. When an argument starts to tear apart their growing relationship, will Annmarie and Nick be able to set aside their preconceived notions and try to repair the damage?
Annmarie and Nick are unforgettable characters. Both are truly great alone, but when they are together, they are amazing and it really seems like they were made for each other despite their different backgrounds. 68 & Climbing keeps not only the temperature rising, but it keeps the emotional involvement up, and it definitely keeps the sensual and erotic love scenes scorching. Kate Douglas has penned a great novel that I was unable to put down. Besides the wonderful hero and heroine, the secondary characters keep this story true to life. Everyone has a friend like Jean, Annmarie's assistant, who likes to meddle and play matchmaker. The romance between one of Annmarie's designers and a member of the construction crew provides an intriguing subplot for the story. The heat is on in 68 & Climbing. This story showcases a great emotional growth in both the main characters, along with some sizzling love scenes. Kate Douglas has written a winner!
