Daphne Littlewood, librarian and general academic, is working on her thesis entitled The Sexual Revolution and the Media. How the Media Has Contributed to the Changing Attitudes Towards Human Sexuality, when she comes to a special party for Big John Johnson, pornography producer extraordinaire. She needs to gather information about the porn industry in order to make her thesis better informed. Instead of meeting Big John though, she stumbles into Jack Foster, one of the most handsome and sexy men she has ever seen in her life. Jack takes an instant liking towards Daphne and wants to help her research her subject, while at the same time, he wants to get to know the sweet librarian better.
Jack Foster isn't an ordinary guy. He is Big John Johnson, one of the most renowned producers and videography artists in the porn industry. He is sick of meeting busty babes who only want to get to know him because of his clout in the porn industry. He wants to meet a woman who is more interested in getting to know the real man… rather than his Johnson. He is excited about the prospect of tutoring Daphne about the ins and outs of the porn industry, and he is really excited when he notices that she is noticing him. Soon what started out as research quickly turns into something more as Jack and Daphne explore the romantic and sensual side of love-making.
Daphne is everything Jack has been looking for in a woman, though he didn't realize it at first. They share long talks, lots of laughs, and as they get to know each other, Jack comes to a crossroads in his life. He is sick of making porn, he is sick of the unbridled lust and the long hours perfecting his craft. He wants to spend his life with Daphne, have a family with her, and venture into other forms of video production. All this means giving up Big John Johnson though and Jack has to decide whether he's ready to let go of his fame and start over.
Sahara Kelly has written a great story. Though she is writing about the porn industry, she makes it seem educational and interesting, though she doesn't gloss over the seedier aspects of it either. Just as Daphne is educated about porn, so is the reader, but it is not at all in a derogatory or rude portrayal. This was truly a sweet romance. Seeing Jack and Daphne fall in love was a real treat because they really did seem like opposites at the beginning of the story, but by the end, the reader can see how perfectly they fit together. Well-written and well researched, For Research Purposes Only is truly a treat to read, and this reviewer has added another new favorite author to her list of must-buy books.
