On her way from St. Louis to Wyoming to join her husband, Elizabeth Davis can’t help but notice the handsome Federal Marshal who is the only other passenger on for this leg of the journey. When their stagecoach is attacked and the drivers killed, the pair is left alone in the wilderness. Traveling back to civilization gives the two the chance to get acquainted.

Their mutual attraction has blossomed before Chris finds out Elizabeth is married to the outlaw he is on the way to apprehend. Elizabeth is not in love with her husband. Although she’s only seen him a few times during their brief marriage, she realizes he’s not the man she thought he was. Learning that he is wanted for killing a lawman just reinforces it.

After several days alone together, Chris and Elizabeth are unable to deny the passion burning between them. But Elizabeth’s husband is still out there - and closer than they realize.

A Safer Haven is a wonderful, very sensual romance. Although short, the story is fully developed and substantial. Chris and Elizabeth are both likable characters that the reader wants to see happy. The sexual chemistry between them is palpable. Ms. Bridger’s has a talent for writing eloquent, extremely passionate love scenes. She gets the point across without being too explicit.

It’s hard to believe this is Ms. Bridger’s first erotic romance. It’s definitely an impressive start. I hope to see many more just like this one!
