Woman In Chains

Robbed of her inheritance and sold to a French brothel, Mia Emmerson manages to get a note to her friend, Viscount Adam Claythorne, in hopes that he can rescue her. Although she has no romantic feelings for him, Mia expects to marry Adam in order to save herself from her cruel guardian and keep herself from poverty.

Eager to help Mia, Adam approaches Anthony Montford. Anthony, a former pirate, fled England after being convicted of a murder he didn’t commit. His country chateau in France is the only possession he has left. Although Anthony wants no part of Adam’s proposition, the reward offered for rescuing Mia would replenish his wealth and give Anthony the freedom to return to the sea. He reluctantly agrees to do the job.

Jaded and world weary, Anthony is immediately captivated by Mia’s sensual beauty. She awakens a passion in him that had been lost. But can Mia accept life with a former pirate or will she decide to play it safe with what she believes Adam will offer her?

At just 50 pages, Woman in Chains is a very short story. However, Ms. Jordan’s expressive writing style packs a lot into few words. Just enough background is provided for the reader to understand each character’s motivations and actions. Topping it off is Anthony and Mia’s sexual chemistry. Their love scenes are intense and emotional.

Woman In Chains is an excellent short story that I highly recommend to readers looking for an erotic historical romance.
