After everything Grady has done for her, she repays him by falling for his brother? When Grady finally shows up at the ranch for Lacey, she is none too pleased with what she learns about him. Guilt is something Slade does not feel. There is no love lost between Slade and Grady. Grady has never had anything that Slade ever wanted, until he laid eyes on Lacey Jarrell. He's never had a woman make him feel the things Lacey makes him feel. He's never worried about a woman the way he worries about her. She doesn't belong with Grady…she belongs with him.
Scottie Barrett has spun a very intense tale with Branded. This story really pulls at the heartstrings. This story will make you laugh, cry, and it will even make you mad in parts. Scottie Barrettdid a great job at creating characters that you think about long after the last page is read. You feel for Lacey because she is torn between love and loyalty. Your heart breaks for Slade because he has finally found the only woman that makes him feel things he's never felt before and he can't have her. Slade and Lacey are strong characters and you can't help but get caught up in their lives and hope that Lacey goes with her heart in the end. This is the first book by Scottie Barrettthat this reviewer has read and will definitely be looking for more by this author. Branded is definitely for the keeper shelf!Reviewed by: Cindy
