Ayden's Folly is a short novella that has all the proper ingredients - a woman, a man, sexual attraction, and deep emotion. At the beginning of the story, Ayden Galvoni is a conflicted man. He's lost a bet to his friend Diesel and must perform whatever task Diesel gives him. That task is to serve as the male stripper at Diesel's cousin's birthday party. His OLDER cousin! Ayden is furious at the situation, but won't renege on a bet, even though he has to strip for a "rich older lady."
At 42, divorcée Analise Jennings is technically an "older lady"--that is, older than Ayden--but she is gorgeous, inside and out. It's her birthday, and she nixed the party her friends wanted to throw for her, so she is alone in her home, spending the evening with a good bottle of wine, her favorite music, and her imagination. When Ayden shows up on her doorstep, the evening becomes combustible!
I thought this was a great read--it's just long enough for all the pieces to fall together, and not so long that it gets repetitive. The repartee is fast and witty, the sex is graphic but not kinky, and their feelings are close and loving, but not unrealistic for two people who have just met. I would recommend this book as a quickie whenever you feel in the mood.Reviewed by: Jean
