Essence of Magic

Vita Omnia is the First Daughter (and heiress apparent) of the Witch Queendom of Travéttica. Her Force of Royal Vessels are a group of twelve men who provide her with their magical "essence" so necessary to magical power. This "essence" is semen, and each Royal Witch ingests the "essence" of her Vessels on a daily basis. Vita must select one of her Vessels to become her Royal Consort, and she chooses Bron D'Extrian, for whom she feels emotions that she has never before experienced. But there is evil afoot in the Queendom of Travéttica, and only Bron's loyalty and strength can save Vita and the Queendom from ruin.

I thought the execution of the plot was a little awkward, but the premise was interesting; the power of a Witch is fueled by swallowing the semen of her Vessels. Therefore most of the sex in this erotic novel is oral sex. In addition, in the Vessels each Witch has a loyal corps of men to take care of her every need, whether physical or political. The plot turns around the concept that treating people in a respectful and just manner engenders loyalty even under adverse conditions. Vita, the heroine, treats her Vessels respectfully and in return the Vessels, under the leadership of Bron, act to save her when evil overtakes her. The sex scenes are frequent and explicit. Readers who enjoy oral sex scenes will appreciate the frequency and details heating up the pages. For readers that prefer other styles of erotic romance, this book is still a pleasure. The storyline is thought provoking and rewarding in and of itself.
