Catch Me If You Can

After being away for several years, Taggart Morgan has come home. When he left home so long ago, he was escaping the emotional and physical abuse his father dealt him on a regular basis. If he had his way, he would still be on a dig, performing his job as an anthropologist, somewhere deep in the jungle. However, the death of his father has brought him home so he can settle the unwanted inheritance his father has left him. Not only has his father left him a legacy that has been in his family for over 300 hundred years, but Tag finds out that his father has secretly purchased a castle in Scotland and all of the details of this mysterious purchase are contained in a cherry wood box.

After a considerable amount of deliberation, Tag decides to open the box to see what it contains. When he opens the box, Tag finds a note from his father and he realizes that even though he is dead; he is still taunting him from the grave. He also discovers a stack of letters, addressed to his father, from a woman named Maura Sinclair. Tag stays up all night reading the correspondences and when he gets to the last letter he is stunned. Not only does he discover a previously unknown facet of his father's personality, he also finds himself drawn to the woman who wrote these letters. Tag makes the decision to travel to Scotland in order to see castle Ballantrae for himself and to meet the captivating woman who lives there. However, what he doesn't realize is that not only is he going to embark on an emotional journey that reveals his family's past history; he is going to find his future as well.

Donna Kauffman is a truly gifted storyteller, who writes incredible stories that contain extraordinary characters and fascinating storylines. Catch Me If You Can is no exception. I was immediately drawn into the story by the historic Celtic storyline and by the emotional turmoil that Taggart Morgan is experiencing. The depth of Maura Sinclair captivated me from the very start. She is a sassy Scottish woman who makes outrageous comments that will have you laughing out loud. Donna Kauffman is one of my favorite authors and I found Catch Me If You Can to be her best story yet. It has everything a romance novel should; passionate love scenes, an intriguing storyline, and characters who have amazing chemistry. Catch Me If You Can is an emotionally heartwarming story that will enchant the reader to the very end.
