Within the Shadow of Stone
Bree from the Clan of Dunstan is a true Shroud Born and she must renew the faith of all who have forsaken the circle of the stones. If Bree fails this mission all will be lost and the land will die. Danger's around every corner for there are some who do not believe in the stone and all their powers. Through Bree's journey she will come to learn all the legends of the stones and the one the stones serve. She must learn how to use the powers she was blessed with because if she fails all hope for a future is lost.
I loved the characters and the way the author tells their story. Bree is at times unsure if she wants the responsibilities that go with her powers so she has a very hard time releasing them. She's still a young woman so she doubts herself a lot. When she is taken as a prisoner and subject to death, she truly fears she's going to die but still shows her emotions to no one. Nathan is a strong Warrior locked in the stones when Bree releases him and he finds out she is taken captive he will do everything in his power to save her. I liked that Nathan was always there when Bree needed him.
I liked that there was a way for Bree to contact Nathan when he was nothing more than a figure of the stone and that he was always there when she needed him. The way they communicate while he's in the rock shows how their bond was created.
Within the Shadow of the Stone is Bree's take on what happened to the Isle of Skye and it's people. It's a great story that you will not want to miss although it's sad to think of it as a legend that all people will eventually forget. This author paints a vivid picture with a great story and a Fantasy feel to it.
