Absolute Pleasure

FBI Agent Sunny MacGregor is after The Seducer. The Seducer is a man who befriends, seduces and then steals from very wealthy widows. This man is a master at changing his personality to become his targets perfect man, and if Sunny can bring him down she will be one step closer to obtaining a position on the Profiling team, which has been her goal since she joined the Bureau. Insurance recovery agent Duncan Chamberlain arrives at the scene of the latest theft and sits in as Sunny questions the victim. Sunny has had a very hard time with this case because she doesn't understand how a woman could be so enamored with a man that she would allow this type of total seduction. As she listens to the victim recount the erotic things The Seducer did to her, Sunny locks gazes with Duncan and acknowledges that she now has a much better understanding of that feeling.

Duncan needs to recover the stuff that was stolen by The Seducer so he can collect the fees in order to keep his company afloat. He decides to play upon the combustible chemistry between himself and Sunny to get her to share information with him. He is shell-shocked when he realizes that he is on the verge of falling in love with her. As angry as she became when she discovered that he was once in the Bureau, he doesn't even want to think about how she will react when she learns the REAL reason that he was discharged.

There is nothing I like better than to see a strong, confident hero brought to his knees by an equally strong and confident heroine when it is the last thing he expects. This is exactly what occurs in Absolute Pleasure. This book is everything a romance should be. It is jam packed with sexual tension and steam, the characters are genuine, the plot is enticing and there are enough secondary characters to keep Ms Denton writing for quite a while. I must admit that the true surprise in this book for me is the superb balance between the romance and the mystery. Not only does the suspense not overwhelm the romance, but due to its nature it actually adds to it. A definite keeper from Jamie Denton.
