Mary Janice Davidson: The Wicked Witch of the West Side Jeannie Desjardin can't believe that her boss has the gall to give her another author to edit. Everybody knows that she is the best editor in the industry but they also know that she is brutally honest, tougher than nails and the last editor on earth who should be dealing with their top selling, prima dona author Hope Desiree. Not liking it but knowing she has no choice, she goes to see Hope to set her straight on the expectations that she has as her editor. When she is greeted at Hope's door by a half naked GORGEOUS man who introduces himself as Steven McCord she immediately knows where Hope gets the inspiration for her love scenes. She quickly learns a couple of other very interesting facts about Steven and Hope. Jeannie is blunt, brusque, honest, and almost rude at times and there are days when I would give my right arm to be able to get away with some of the things that she says and does. Mary Janice Davidson just ensured that her future books go straight to the top of my TBR pile.
Jamie Denton: Instruction in Seduction After being told that she is sadly lacking in the sexual aspect of relationships Policewoman Eden Matthews decides that it's time to learn the art of seduction. Who better to teach her than her best friend, partner and legendary lover Jackson Hunt? He is sinfully gorgeous and if the rumor mill is accurate he definitely knows what he is doing under the sheets and most of all she trusts him. When his partner, the woman who has been haunting his dreams for the past few weeks, suddenly starts asking him all kinds of sexual questions Jackson is shocked. That shock is nothing compared to what he feels when she tells him of her plan to find a temporary tutor in the art of seduction and then proposes that he be that tutor. After one mind-blowing kiss, Jackson agrees to be her tutor but there will be nothing temporary about the situation. The name Jamie Denton on the cover of a book guarantees that I will buy it. I know that it will be a little funny, a lot sexy and that I will not want to put it down even after the story ends, as was the case with Instruction in Seduction.
Susanna Carr: Wicked Ways Peyton Lovejoy will do anything to save the family business, Lovejoy's Unmentionables, from financial disaster. Currently, she is entertaining a potential client who wants to know that her designs will be manufactured by a company that is run by a woman who knows how to be sexy and have fun. Hanging out in male strip joints and pool halls is not Peyton's idea of fun and she has no idea how she is supposed to act in these unfamiliar places. She calls the twenty-four hour answer hotline at the local library to get some etiquette tips. Mike Ryder isn't sure if he should be intrigued by or afraid of the woman calling the hotline with the very strange questions. He does know that her voice affects him unlike anything he has ever experienced and he can't help but wonder about the woman who owns that voice. When he meets her he is definitely fascinated and also a little suspicious since he is not buying her wild woman charade. He is sure that she is hiding something but he can't call her on it without exposing his own secret. Susanna Carr has penned a wonderful story that has an intriguing plot, a little suspense, a little humor and more than a little heat. It is always fun to discover a new author who grabs my attention, which is exactly what has happened with Ms. Carr. I look forward to many more stories from this author.
I believe that there lives inside each of us a little devil who wants to come out and play every once in a while. The heroines in each of these stories meets a hero who unleashes the devil within and they discover that being bad has never been so good.Reviewed by: Missy
