Hot Stuff
When Annabelle Jordan first met football legend Brandon Vaughn she felt the chemistry zing between them and she has never forgotten the man. Now several years later, he is once again going to be a client of the family owned sports agency/PR firm owned by herself, her two sisters and the uncle who raised the three of them after their parents died. Although Annabelle knows that she needs to stay as far away from him as possible, she is the only one who has the time to take on another client.
Brandon knows that he screwed up years ago when he let his ex-wife talk him into leaving "The Hot Zone", the best PR agency around, and the man who had been more like a father to him than his own, Yank Morgan. Brandon is now trying to open a lodge in his hometown that will be a vacation resort in the winter and in the summer, a summer camp for kids who are in trouble academically. He realizes that he is lucky to have all that he has and wants to help kids who have the same kind of problems that he had while growing up.
The incidents of sabotage that have been occurring during the construction of the lodge have led to bad publicity and Brandon knows that Yank or one of his nieces will know exactly what to do to counteract it. He doesn't count on having to work with sexy-in-your-face Annabelle. Brandon has never forgotten the one brief meeting that he had with her years ago and doesn't think that he will be thinking of PR for the lodge, while working in close proximity with her.
Hot Stuff is an awesome story filled with family dynamics, loyalty, mystery, fear, and too many more emotions to list. Before they can attain a happily ever after, Brandon and Annabelle must learn to let go of their deepest fears and trust each other completely. Their emotions combined with the host of secondary characters makes this one of the most realistic books I've read. Ms. Phillips dedicates this book to her family and then goes on to introduce us to a family that is so genuine it is uncanny. I look forward to better getting to know the rest of the family, and seeing where she takes us with the cliff-hanging romance of Yank and his long time secretary Lola.
