The Overlander's Bride
From the day she was born Polly Sawyer was promised to marry Henry Grant. Now as the days to the marriage became fewer and fewer she refused to follow the directions of her rich father. While she was a spoiled little rich girl she also had a hard head and when her father wouldn't budge, would not dare change his mind she fled. Posing as a man she joined a Wagon Train headed to the Oregon Territories. It became harder and harder to hide her identity and soon she was found out by the Trail Captain, Joshua Adams. How ironic was it that Joshua was a cousin of Henry Grant? Being the noble man that he is, he vows to return her to his cousin, but fearing for her safety on the hard trail he marries her. Polly is then married to a man she doesn't love and he is taking her to the man she fled from. Along the way these two will fight mutual feelings that arise, and different aspects of their lives will force them to truly see who it is they love.
This was a true romantic story from the beginning to end. Joshua is such a strong character and so well liked. He was just described so well. Polly is a fighter and it makes up for the spoiled little girl we are introduced to. The whole Wagon Train and western personas in this story make for a very interesting read. A must read for any Western Historical fan.
