Twist of Faith is so beautifully written. In the story you meet young Father Michael Zipay. Father Michael had just become a priest at St Mary's. He loved his chosen path and thought he was relatively more open minded then most priests. This caused him problems at his last church but still the last Pastor gave him an excellent reference. He gave council to those who needed him and took his calling seriously. Never before in his life had he given a second thought about his calling to the Priesthood. It was his life until he meets Kathleen.
Kathleen is an abused mother of two that loves her children but hates her home life. Her husband, Jerry is a real bastard. Kathleen wants to leave him but fears for her children's safety. Jerry, out of spite, would fight her for custody and she didn't have a leg to stand on without a job and she knows that without a job she would have an almost impossible chance of winning a custody battle.
When she meets Father Michael she is mesmerized by his sincerity and good looks. Priests are not supposed to look as good as he does.
As time goes by they begin to spend a lot of time together, but it's for the grace of the Church. Father Michael prays for forgiveness because never has a woman touched him as Kathleen does. What happens when she tells him of her feelings? Once Jerry is out of the picture will he give up his priesthood to be with a woman he adores?
Kelly McDonough's books are just so smooth and enjoyable to read. They tell a story and it actually lures the reader in. She dares touch a subject that is very difficult to deal with. Father Michael has a huge dilemma facing him. What road will he choose? Is it possible that God led him to Kathleen? This was a very good book and highly recommended. I was stuck in this book from beginning to end.
