Candelyn Comyn is one of the strongest, well-liked characters that I have seen in a long time. She is tough and strong willed. She stuck out to me more then any heroine has in a very long time. She can ride a horse just as well as any man and she can shoot has an arrow as well as the best. She's one tough lady and when she captures the eye of Angus McBaron all hell is about to break loose.
He wants her from the start. Her spit and fire excite him, driving him near mad. He can't have her, well not in a normal way. Angus cannot court her the way she should be courted but that will not stop him from having what he wants. So what does he do? He steals her. He takes her to his home and there he must protect her from the dealings happening in the beautiful Scotland. Two clans that don't agree cannot keep him away from the beautiful Candelyn. Nothing will stop him from making her, his. It wont take him long to realize she wants him as much as he wants her.
Mariah LeGrand has done a wonderful job in telling a love story between Angus and Candelyn. Her character's depth is amazing and this is simply exactly what it is: A romantic tale filled with passion, romance, fire and a few obstacles. I look forward to reading more of her work.
