The Quirin Stone
Cassandra Wallace wants to get into one of Professor Thor Severnson's classes. After failing to get an appointment with him, she goes to his home and the Professor is taking a dip in his pool. After falling through a hedge, she is invited into his home. She sees a painting and it causes her to feel faint. They are very attracted to each other, and they embark on a sexual relationship.
Cassie is troubled by her dreams. They are interfering with her life. Why is she having dreams about another woman's life? Why does she feel such an intense connection to Thor? What is Thor hiding from her?
Thor is a stoic yet passionate man. He is a man who doesn't show his emotions readily or easily. The reader gets glimpses of the depth in this man as the story progresses. Cassandra is a charming, guileless and fairly intelligent girl. Her connection to Thor is spontaneous. She tries to maintain her independence but succumbs to Thor's onslaught. He is a man who usually gets what he wants and he wants Cassandra. Thor and Cassandra are passionate personalities who enjoy the physical aspects of their relationship. After settling in his home, her natural curiosity takes hold and Cassandra wants to find out about his past. While snooping around she finds documents which are unnerving. This story is centered on these two characters and Thor's past plays an important part of the plot line.
Although it was an enjoyable book, this reader found the pacing to be a little bit jarring. The storyline moved at a break neck pace - from the first sexual encounter to their marriage but the ending was abrupt. If you enjoy paranormal romances, The Quirin Stone is filled with highly charged erotic situations and an intriguing storyline.
