The Most Dangerous "Wolf " of All
Duncan and Constance were married at a young age; he was fifteen and she only twelve. Then after the wedding they were put to bed, where Duncan fell asleep. Constance thought that she must be very ugly indeed for her husband to not want to consummate his vows. As they lay there and waited for all of the witnesses to leave the room so Constance could cry in peace, Constance knew that this marriage would not be one in the true sense. Then when they were left alone Duncan got up and dressed and left Constance. She never saw Duncan again, but always got letters from Duncan asking Constance to keep her virtue intact. As the years went by Constance always wondered where her husband was and who he was with and if he was with anyone. Constance filled her time with helping the people on her father's estate and going to church. Constance always received a letter without fail from her husband telling her to always be true to him and to keep her virtue intact. Then Constance decided to take a basket to the old women down the lane and as Constance was walking she met a handsome stranger and was so taken by him that she knew it would be hard to keep her vow to remain true to her husband and keep her virtue intact. This stranger asked to walk with her to the old woman's home so Constance said she would love his company.
This reviewer loved this book. It had you guessing till the end whether the lady would still have her virtue intact when her wayward husband came home. The plot was well written and had substance, the Lady and her plight was very endearing. Ms.Manning has written a charming tale of love and fairy tale endings. This reviewer gives this book a five angel rating for a book that will capture your heart.
