A Perilous Affair
Alicia Brookes ceased to exist the moment she was rescued from a sadist's prison. The top agent "died" as a result of her injuries and Mari Chandler was brought to life. She has a new face, a new name, and a new career. As part of her new life, Mari must forget all aspects of her former existence. She was to remain dead to everyone, including her family and most importantly the man she loved, Reid.
Mari is a successful businesswoman now; however, she has not been able to make peace with losing Reid. She decides to exorcise his memory by visiting the last place they went together. Little did she know that Reid would be visiting to say goodbye to his own memories of a dead woman. The two meet and are still drawn to each other. Yet, Mari knows that to tell Reid the truth will put both of them in peril. Now that she has found him, can she give him up again? Will either of them have a choice for their futures as a mad man schemes to finish what he started three years ago?
A Perilous Affair is a truly exceptional romance. Linda Wisdom has created a remarkable heroine and hero. Mari's confronts her life with fortitude and a desire to make the best out of limited options. The reader can't help but applaud the sheer determination with which she fights her fears. When she is given an opportunity to recapture a moment with the man she loved and lost, readers feel compassion towards her. She fights with herself and what she thinks is the correct path to take, knowing that it may take Reid out of her life forever. Reid is a man every woman could love. He is strong, stubborn, and willing to go to any lengths for the woman he loves. The story is filled with wonderful moments between these two characters as they discover passion, pain and love on a journey to recapture what they lost. The intrigue and suspense surrounding them when added to the heartrending romance made this a book that you will remember long after the last page.
