Blind Run
Ethan Decker used to be the best. He was the leader of a highly specialized team of operatives for one of the most secret agencies within the government. When a mission turned bad and a renegade assassin killed most of his team and his son in retaliation, Ethan turned his back on his career and on his wife. However, his self-imposed exile is interrupted when the last surviving member of his team, Anna, brings him two children to protect. He has no interest in protecting children. Yet when he chases after Anna and finds her murdered, he knows he has no choice. It would appear that the assassin has finally managed to track them down. Taking the children with him, he rushes to get to his ex-wife's and ensure her safety. Little does he know that he is playing right into a depraved conspiracy that may cost them all their lives.
Sydney has no desire to go with her ex-husband, but as bullets start flying and people start dying she will argue with him later. As she learns more and more about the children with him, she knows that something is not right. Ethan and Sydney work together to delve into the riddle of the children's past and present. What they find draws them deeper and deeper into a spider web of deceit and danger. Someone is using them and the children as pawns in their own private game.
Patricia Lewin has crafted a remarkable story fraught with intrigue, tension, and superb details. She has combined excellent writing with fantastic action to immerse the reader immediately. The book is filled with a cast of outstanding characters. Ethan and Sydney are strong heroes that are compassionate and determined in their quest to save the children. Added to this is a collection of supporting characters that enhance the story from start to finish. There are twists and turns throughout the plot that keep the reader guessing as to who will ultimately triumph. This is a definite page-turner and a highly recommended read for anyone who enjoys a fast-paced, suspense novel.
