Goddess of the Dead
Throughout the centuries, Kiya had been known by many names and worshiped by all. However, times were changing, she was no longer able to walk the earth as a goddess. Hiding her power, she ruled behind the scenes, a priestess to Queen Cleopatra. A lonely and solitary life, only a handful knew her as she really was, but none knew of the pain she harbored deep inside. She had lost her husband, Osiris, a thousand years before. She despaired of ever finding another worthy of her love. A vision brings hope when Kiya finally sees the man that is destined to be her eternal mate.
Darius had come to Alexandria to arrange an alliance between Cleopatra and Caesar. Kiya enchanted him from the moment he saw her, yet as a priestess she was forbidden. When their passion for one another becomes uncontrollable, Darius realizes he would give up everything to be with her. After someone close to them betrays the goddess and her lover, will Kiya and Darius be able to escape with their lives?
Vivi Anna has created a wonderful story in a few short pages. The characters are well defined and work together to bring this story alive. Kiya is an especially intriguing character. She is not your average heroine. As a goddess, she must be strong and somewhat barbaric, yet she manages to do this without appearing overly cruel or turning off the reader. Goddess of the Dead is a riveting story that will keep your attention from the first to the final page. This reviewer looks forward to more from this talented author.
