One More Tomorrow

It was dark when Stephanie Novak was finally able to make her way home from her job as manager of The Bookworm's Delight. As she walked the seemingly deserted street, a mugger jumps out and puts a gun to her heart. Determined not to show her fright, she was about to give in to the assailant's demand, when in a flash, someone knocked the gun out of his hand and rendered her attacker unconscious. Surprised as she was at the quickness of the dark-haired stranger, she could not help but be intrigued by his handsome face. His very presence oozed danger and mystery. Stephanie knew that she would not be able to forget the remarkable man who saved her life.

Galen Kent was shocked at how much Stephanie reminded him of his first and only love, Linette. Could it be that after centuries of waiting, his love had finally been reborn? Galen had been forced by Moloch to become a vampire. For centuries, he had dreamed of becoming mortal again. He wanted to grow old with the woman he was destined to be with. He now knew that Stephanie was that woman.

Galen must find the legendary elixir that would change him back to a mortal, before he can pledge his life to the woman with whom he has fallen desperately in love. Moloch is equally determined to stop Galen before it is too late, for he is the only vampire that can take over his position as the leader of the undead. He will do anything to see that they do not find the happily-ever-after that they seek. With an army of the undead out to get them, will Galen and Stephanie be victorious against the evil that threatens their lives?

Slow at the beginning, this story might take you a little bit to really get into. Once you do, you find that Galen and Stephanie make a sweet couple. Galen comes across as a wounded hero in this story of a love that spans centuries. At times a bit weak, his character seems to become stronger as the story goes on. Stephanie's character was more difficult to get into. This reviewer would have liked to get to know her better so that the pain and emotional anguish she feels at times could have more impact. The writing was wonderful in this book. Ms. Martin's descriptive words give life to this world, and allow the reader a glimpse of the weary existence of a centuries old vampire. Bad guys are abundant in this story and once the story gets going there is lots of action to keep you on the edge of your seat. There were a few times that the characters seemed to act in a way that did not make sense to this reviewer, but overall it was a very enjoyable book. This is a recommended read for all fans of the vampire genre.
