MOON MAGICK is a wonderfully drawn tale of suspense and eroticism. With the backdrop of a powerful witch practicing her craft in the rural area of southern Indiana, a tale of murder and revenge moves at a fast pace.
Brenna Lindsay has peacefully practiced her craft and led her coven in the small Indiana town of Paoli. With the slight exception of standing against Bob John Roebuck's plans of resort development on public lands, and shutting down those plans in court. When she finds Bob John's body not far from the clearing where she has just performed her ritual for the Litha sabbat, Brenna knows that she was right in requesting the help of the Coven of the Wolf's leader, Drake Morgan of DESTINY'S MAGICK.
Sheriff Ty Buchanan has spent many years in the law enforcement field, and just as many hiding from his shamanic heritage. The death of Bob John Roebuck is his first murder investigation as sheriff, and he doesn't like it when he finds that the woman who has haunted his dreams as his lover for the last month was the first one on the scene.
Brenna recognizes Ty from the vision granted to her by the Goddess during the Litha ceremony as her destiny. She must tread carefully with Ty as few take well to her status as a witch, and one more powerful than the ordinary Wiccan.
Evil haunts the little town of Paoli. Brenna's and Ty's pasts are resurrected. Only by working together will they be able to overcome. But, can they?
Brenna and Ty seem like they could be your next-door neighbors, if a little secretive, which makes this story all the more engaging. Brenna may be vulnerable as a target of someone she doesn't know, but she is in no way weak. This is a woman who faces her obstacles and gets done what she needs done. She is a woman who knows what she wants out of life and isn't afraid to speak up for herself.
Ty is another great character because he seems to be the perfect mix of alpha and beta hero, but with enough faults thrown in that he's still human. He's commanding and sure of himself, but he also gets jealous when other men vie against him for Brenna's affections. He readily accepts Brenna's alternative lifestyle, but refuses to acknowledge his own family's past. These characters were the perfect mix for this strong and dynamic story.
Ms. Morgan manages to pull together the tricky worlds of magick and suspense for a rich and sensual tale. Future offerings by her in this series are greatly anticipated.
