Wulfgar
The time has come for Wulfgar to take revenge on the man who has ruined his betrothal's reputation. A man who he cannot stand and is determined to use anything or anyone to make his vengeance succeed. No man will go free once Wulfgar teaches him a lesson; never mess with his things or people. The one woman who was close to marrying him has killed herself after his enemy violated her. News came to him that the Norman's leader was expecting his betroth to come to him. Since Wulfgar's own soon-to-be bride killed herself because of his enemy, he takes it upon himself to have a bride finally.
His plan was just to steal the Norman's betroth and make her pay for him losing his betroth. However, Wulfgar never thought that he would become enchanted with Alinor of Arrus. She is different from other women he has seen and he never thought that a delicate woman could ever be a match for him. Being with Alinor has made him care for her, something he never thought would happen with his enemy's woman. Now he is having strong feelings towards her, but he can't help but wonder whether she is telling the truth about her feelings and if he can trust her with his heart.
Being captured by Wulfgar was something she never thought would happen. All she had to do was go to the Normans to await her betroth. Seeing Wulfgar all tall and scary, she never anticipated, he would come to mean so much to her. Being with him, she learns things about him that she never thought would be true of him. Now, she is trapped between the man she is set to marry and the man that she wants to marry. Can two people so in need of love look away from their differences and find a happily ever after?
Goldie McBride has created a story that you will treasure and repeatedly read. From the first chapter Ms. McBride captures your attention with a storyline that gets you interested with its strong words. You have a man who has fallen victim to his enemy's treacherous plans. His future bride has just been ruined to the point where she kills herself. With no bride and news that his enemy will soon be marrying, he sets out on a quest to gain a bride once again no matter what the cost. The plan would have gone better if he had not become attracted to Alinor of Arrus. He can't deny his feelings and neither can she, but they will try anything to secure a love. The scenes with them together are ones worth reading with the sparks and sexual chemistry going between them. Worth keeping and can't wait for another book by Ms. McBride because this writer is going places.
