Educating Mr. Winters is the intriguing story of ninth-grade teacher Gregory Winters and his student teacher Shadoe Gray. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, Shadoe and Greg wanted each other, but each had reasons for staying apart. Shadoe wanted to complete her education so she could start teaching as soon as possible, and Greg knew it wouldn't be right to become involved with his student teacher, the woman he was helping to become a teacher. Nonetheless, passion can't be denied and Greg and Shadoe finally come together in a scorching encounter that is pure heat and sensuality. But it's not happily ever after for this couple, instead things just get more complicated and a secret Greg has been hiding all his life comes to the forefront.
Shadoe was very supportive of Greg, which I really liked, but at the same time she knew that she couldn't solve all his problems for him. Shadoe provided comfort and caring to Greg when certain truths came to be known about him, but she didn't coddle him, something I see far too often in romance novels. Both were individual characters that managed to come together against great odds. Greg was a great hero: sexy, masculine, and very sensitive to Shadoe's needs. Together, they helped create a story that was fast-paced and interesting.
This was a great, fast read that engaged me from the very first page. Veronica Chadwick created very realistic characters, but yet, both Greg and Shadoe had something extra, that made them a very good couple. The writing was very good also, very sensual and erotic, but the author knew when it was time to be serious and helped me see their relationship grow in the conversations and actions that happened during the book. I love a good love scene, and Veronica Chadwick filled Educating Mr. Winters with plenty of hot love scenes, but she also included humor, romance, companionship, and love, everything that is necessary to make a good story. Educating Mr. Winters was emotionally fulfilling and humorous, and this reviewer can't wait to read more of Veronica Chadwick's stories.
