An Unforgettable Lady
John Smith is at a job when he first spots Countess Grace von Sharone. They share a passionate kiss and don't expect to see each other again. She is in a loveless marriage and working hard to succeed in her father's footsteps. Her father's death has left her in charge of the Hall Foundation. It also left her an extremely wealthy woman. Someone has been killing the socialites in the city. A newspaper clipping is left next to the bodies, which features the six most prominent women in the city. Grace was on the list. She is in need of protection and it comes in the form of John Smith. He works for Black Watch, Ltd., a security firm.
Grace is very much a modern woman. She has found love when she least expects it and with a man who doesn't want to commit. Although she is still married, the author makes it known the marriage is OVER and all that is left is the divorce. Her life is turned upside down by John, her family and work. These three factors pull at her and she tries her best to accommodate everyone. John is an extremely complex man. His work is very important to him. He feels he cannot love or be with someone because of the things he has done in the past. His feelings for Grace is deep and overwhelming and he fights it with all his might. Of course, he still has a job to do and his primary objective is to keep Grace alive. There are a myriad of secondary characters within this book but they don't detract from Grace and John. This is ultimately their story and the author reels the reader in with it. These two are just wonderful together. From their snappy dialogue to their erotic tangos, Grace and John come to life and the reader is hopelessly entranced by their relationship.
This book has it all: action, mystery and romance. The author has written a complex story that has woven all these elements together. The reviewer found it to be a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable read.
