Boone Noleene is Stone's bodyguard. He is an ex-con but Stone gave him a second chance by hiring him. Grace and Boone find common ground together. Can Grace preserve her husband's memory? Can Grace and Boone find happiness together?
Ms. Smith has spun another memorable tale. Grace is a wonderful heroine. She is intelligent, quirky and above all, a survivor. She is a woman with a spine of steel. It is through her eyes and her memories that the reader becomes acquainted with her husband, Harp. Boone is also a survivor. He was released from prison but has to rebuild his life. Stone has given him so much and he feels a deep loyalty to him. However, there is an attraction between Grace and Boone. Boone felt it the connection the minute he laid eyes on Grace. They are good for each other.
Ms. Smith has surrounded the lead couple with many secondary characters. They could have overwhelmed the storyline and taken the spotlight off the lead characters but it is to the author's credit that it didn't happen. They are truly a varied bunch from Stone's family to Grace's family. They all hit just the right note and provide many moments of comedy. They enhanced the storyline and did their job of supporting Grace and Boone's story.
The author skillfully explores the characters and their relationships. This unique cast of characters propels the storyline forward at an even pace and will suck the reader into their stories. The reader can and will empathize with the characters as the author has brought them all to life. The author provided an extremely satisfying conclusion and it brought a smile to this reviewer's face. Charming Grace will go on this reviewer's "keepers" shelf. This book has it all: comedy, action, pathos and romance. This reviewer applauds Ms. Smith on her wonderful book.
