Biker Chic

Melanie is a newly divorced woman who is unsure about who she is and what she wants. She has spent the better part of eighteen years of her life living for her selfish and immature jerk of a husband, an older man that she married to escape her broken home life. Free for the first time after her divorce she decides to escape the pressures of her old life and go on a road trip to relax. However fate has other things in mind for her and the first thing it wishes to teach her is what to do when your car breaks down. Jake is a free spirit, young handsome and a biker all the way; tattoos and all. However, he is also caring, considerate, kind and hunkalicious. The perfect antidote for Melanie to realize there's more to life and life can be very good.

This was a very pleasant and surprisingly wonderful read. It is more along the lines of a chic-lit than your typical romance. Jake is not your typical hero he is however a knight in shinning armor in that he rescues and teaches Melanie that not all men are pigs after all. It was indeed a short read but every compact inch of it was used to best showcase the storyline to its advantage. This reviewer found the hero someone you would meet or see during any road trip and he explodes the myth that bikers are bad boys and too dangerous to interact with. Ms. Jenson cleverly shows they have a conscience, morals, and are like everyone else under the tattoos, leather and piercings.

Ms. Jenson sure knows how to make you feel like you've been swept off your feet with the hot lovemaking. They were sensual and intense scenes that explored the heroine's need to be loved and recognized as a woman, especially after a long period of being ignored by your longtime spouse. This is what I found to be most profound out of this book, Ms. Jenson shows, in my opinion, the feelings and emotions of what goes on in the mind of a woman who has been in a relationship with a man who has turned his back on his commitment and hurt a woman at the deepest levels. Melanie shows she will not be broken and she will not be stepped on which is the true essence of coming into your womanhood. Overall my opinion of this work was a resounding "Wonderful read" and if you haven't read it, then you should.

Note: There is very powerful and profound scene of rape in this book. However, it was beneficial to the story line and tastefully orchestrated and in my opinion not offensive.
