Beguiled: Dane Carter, a Private Investigator, steps in when his brother dies mysteriously. His family think he is putting the family business in order, what he's really doing is looking for leads to find out who killed his brother. Dane uncovers the callous way his twin Derek treated Angel, not just professionally but personally too, which makes Angel Morris the most likely suspect for murdering Derek.
Wanton: Celia Carter has been badly burned personally before and will not allow it to happen a second time. She dumps her old life in order to start a new and better one, but what happens when the people you work with don't want you to be there? The biggest offender is Private eye Alex Sharpe. Alex has seen her when she was down and reeling from her betrayal and wonders what the heck Celia is doing playing at being a Private Investigator; especially, when she has another life waiting for her in the business world. Celia is not one to give up; she has taken on a case and is bound and determined to follow it through, with or without Alex's help.
Uncovered: Clair Caldwell works as a computer expert and secretary to Dane and Alex at their detective agency. She has a crush on her longtime running pal Harris the firefighter. She falls in love with him and he doesn't even realize she's alive. Until Harris finds some nude photos of a beautiful woman, who intrigues him, and in her letters she relates she is in love with Harris. But the photos, while nude, do not show a face for Harris to track down. All this intrigues Harris enough to go to Clair's work place and hire them to find the woman in the photo.
I knew if it was a Lori Foster book it would be good…and I was right. All three of these stories are loosely tied together; from the first story to the next, the saga continues. Of the three stories my favorite was Dane and Angel and it is also the first story in the line up. The chemistry between the two is incredible. The love scenes in all stories are scorching and sensual in their intensity. The love is explicitly touching from start to finish; it is a tangible thing in all of the stories. They argue, they make love and they care; all of this is felt throughout the various stories.
All of these things are common in these three stories. Not so common in the stories are the heroines. Angel has the appearance of fluff but has a core of steel and a will of iron. She may look like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth but she is more likely to fire it out to you instead. Celia is a very strong personality and is bullheaded in her stubbornness. But she hides a soft and caring heart that allows her to sometimes be taken advantage of. Clair is the independent super jock brainiac who is sensually appealing. She would give you the shirt off her back once she knows you are a friend. All three heroes are strong alpha characters with different challenging character traits.
Each story taps into your heart and funnels all their dreams and all their drama into a world you do not wish to leave. This reviewer finished the book in a few hours because it was impossible to put the book down until all the stories had been read. If you don't have the book you definitely need to go get it. This reviewer guarantees you will not regret spending the money on it because it will go to your keeper shelf after you're done.
