Undercover Detective Renee Atkin is tired of playing a hooker for the Police Department's sting operations. It's cold, boring, unchallenging work, and she has the rank and experience to be working on more important cases. The story begins with Renee working on the streets, late one night, dressed in short skirt, stiletto heels, a hidden microphone, and not much else. When quitting time comes, she is driven home by a co-worker, Detective Sam Hooper. She and Sam have been lusting after each other for 3 years, but have never done anything about it - until tonight. When an ex-con stalks Renee in revenge, Sam and Renee must work together to save themselves.
This is a short story (about 60 pages), but the action is well-paced and flows very nicely. The characters are well drawn and developed, and the action occurs without hurry or shortcuts. The story contains very spicy, explicit sex, including some light bondage. This is also a suspense novel, containing a criminal subplot, which was an interesting combination. I enjoyed it as a light read that I could fit into a lunch break, and would recommend it to my friends.
