The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud

Charlie and Sam St. Cloud have a very close relationship as brothers. When tragedy strikes Charlie is determined to keep his promise to Sam. His promise is to never leave Sam. After the accident Charlie will do all it takes to make sure he is there for Sam always, even if he cannot tell anyone or else they might question his sanity. In the midst of this tragedy, Charlie is given a special gift. It is this "gift" that in the end will help him learn a very important life lesson.

Tess Carroll has a dream of sailing around the world in her boat, Querencia, and her dream is about to come true. With the town of Marblehead and a few close family and friends supporting her adventure, Tess is certain she will do well on her solo trip. It is on a brief "practice" run that her life will change forever.

When Charlie and Tess meet, the world is no longer as it seems for both. Each will impact the others life tremendously, and for both, nothing will ever be the same.

If there is one book you read this year, it must be The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. This story is full of suspense, love, hope and most of all courage. Ben Sherwood gives readers a very uplifting tale. He also gives readers another remarkable version of what the afterlife could possibly be like.

The two main characters alone are worth picking up this book. Charlie is a man full of love and courage. He goes against all odds on hope and love to help the ones he loves. Tess is a true adventurer at heart. While she loves the town of Marblehead, her dream of sailing solo around the world is a very important goal to her. She will put everything on hold for this event. These two characters will leave a heart-warming mark on readers of The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud.

Ben Sherwood has not only given us these two main characters, but also a book full of characters that will impact this story immensely. Sam is a delightful character who readers will watch with awe. A personal favorite character is "The Woman Who Listens," Bella Hooper. Every town should have a woman such as this.

There can not be enough said about this truly wonderful book. Fans of any genre will not want to pass up The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood. He gives readers a story of inspiration. Five Angels does not seem enough of a reward for this book. It is truly exceptional!
