Date with a Diva

Club Paradise partner, Lainie Reynolds, is known for her tough as nails personality, and a stare that is so cold it can freeze a man in his tracks. Ex NHL super star Nico Cesare sees beyond the ice maiden that she shows to the rest of the world to the real woman underneath, who is hot enough to melt the ice in any ice rink on which he has ever played. Winning Lainie won't be an easy task. She has been badly burned by her ex-husband and has no intention of opening herself up to any man, to allow herself to be hurt again. A series of accidents at Club Paradise gives Nico the excuse he needs to stick very, very close to Lainie. She doesn't know it but he doesn't plan on EVER leaving her side.

Lainie hates having her failure of a marriage talked about all over South Beach, during the trial of her swindling ex-husband. She hates the accidents that are happening in the hotel and the feeling she has that her whole life is spiraling out of control. Most of all she hates the feelings that Nico arouses in her. She is all for a hot and temporary fling but has no intention of ever again allowing her heart to become involved in anything that goes on behind closed bedroom doors. Will Nico accept her rules or convince her to play by the ones that he sets?

I have anxiously awaited Lainie's story from the moment I met her in the very first "Single in South Beach" book. She is a very intriguing character and I wondered how Ms. Rock would ever find a man that would be man enough for her. Nico proves time and time again that he is indeed man enough for the job of taming the Diva of Club Paradise. I always love the chemistry that Ms. Rock generates between her characters, but never more so than between Lainie and Nico.
