Wet and Wilde

Recent divorcee Jane Wilde decides she needs to spice up her life, become more adventurous and really do something intriguing with her life for once. Jane's best friends Diana and Carmen want to get her something to cheer her up so Jane decides she needs swim lessons. She has had a life long fear of water, and she really wants to overcome her fear.

At the first lesson, the last thing Jane is thinking about is her fear of the water. She's concentrating on hottie swim instructor Josh DeWet. He's the most amazing man she has ever seen, and it appears that Josh is equally enthralled with her, but with her poor self-esteem, Jane wonders why he is interested in her. As her lessons begin, so does her relationship with Josh, a man who is willing to do anything to please her. Josh has never been so attracted to a woman before, and he realizes that Jane is "The One," the woman meant to mate with him and have his children while he returns to the sea. You see, Josh isn't your average swim instructor, he's a selkie and he has to find a human woman to mate with that can bear him children while he goes back to his home in the ocean.

As their courtship continues, Jane finds that Josh is a little odd. He adores seafood, can produce an electric current when touching her, and he can communicate with her without speaking. But this doesn't stop Jane from falling head over heels in love with him. Josh is equally in love with Jane and dreads leaving her when the time comes. But it's getting dangerous for him to be out of water so often, and he wishes to return to his natural habitat. But first, he must convince Jane that what they have is real and that she can trust him.

Wet and Wilde certainly lives up to its name. This story has a very wild premise, but it's amazing what author Tawny Taylor has managed to create. Her portrayal of Josh's oceanic home and his many odd habits are funny and endearing. The chemistry between Josh and Jane leaps off the page and the reader is left to wonder how Jane can manage to resist Josh at all, selkie or not. Tawny Taylor has written a really creative and interesting story with lots of humorous, romantic, and erotic moments. I just wish she would write Diana and Max's story. This is a can't miss tale of oceanic proportions.
