Seeing Is Believing

Tony Almington has always had an overactive imagination. While he may be an accountant, his true calling seems to be to help every worthless, made-up cause out there. Liz Moretti is fed up with her business partner, Tony’s hair-brained schemes. While she sits in the office cajoling customers and doing twice the work, Tony is out on what she thinks is another trumped up conspiracy. However, when Tony’s body is found in the trunk of her car, Liz begins to rethink her opinion on Tony’s latest “case”. While being questioned for his murder, Liz can’t help but wonder if Tony actually did stumble across something worth killing for. Can Liz discover the truth before its too late?

Seeing Is Believing is an involved, suspenseful tale. The action starts immediately and continues with enough twists and turns to have the reader guessing how it will turn out. The setting of the book contributes nicely to the plot without overshadowing the mystery. However, the strength of the work lies in the characters the author has created. Chris Grover has crafted a town full of realistic individuals that provide a cast of possible suspects. Her characters truly add depth to this work and are what makes the investigation interesting. As Liz gets closer to discovering the truth, the mounting tension is almost palpable. Readers can’t help but hope to unravel that last detail that will unveil the motive and a means to stop the criminals. The author’s attention to police procedures and criminal intent makes this a mystery that seems to have stepped off the pages of current news.
