Make Me Over

Professor Drew Bennett is thrilled at the opportunity to promote his new book “Beyond Eliza Doolittle” on national television. He is not so thrilled about having to use a reality TV show to do it. He believes in his book and the idea that ANY woman, no matter how rough around the edges, can be transformed into a true lady. He does have a few moments of trepidation when he sees some of the “ladies” with whom he will be working, until he sees HER. The woman that he knows has the potential to be his fair lady both on the set and for the rest of his life.

Tori Lyons maintains that a deathbed promise is null and void if the person doesn’t die, but her father makes her keep the promise and so she finds herself in New York preparing to “get some learnin’”. New York is a long way from Sheets Creek, Tennessee and the hot rod circuit to which she is accustomed. She is not worried about it because she has every intention of being the first contestant to be eliminated. When she meets Drew and is caught up in the inferno that blazes around them she decides to stay and try for the prize. Which “prize” will Tori choose?

Some people will tell you that this book is about romance behind the scenes of a TV Reality show but I envision preparing Ellie Mae Clampett to meet the royal family. In Make Me Over, Leslie Kelly delivers another keeper that is full of sass, fun, heat and some of the absolute sweetest romance that I have ever had the pleasure to read. The secondary characters all bring a bit of fun and surprise to the story and the heat that is generated between Tori and Drew will all but singe your fingers. If you have never read a book by Leslie Kelly I highly recommend ALL of them but none more so than Make Me Over.
