The Billionaire’s Pregnant Mistress

Greek billionaire Dimitri Petronides has a problem. He must tell his lover that he is going to marry another woman; not because he wants to but because he made a promise. The very last thing that Dimitri wants is to marry the young woman that his grandfather has determined will be a suitable wife for the heir to the Petronides fortune, unfortunately he feels that he has no choice. His grandfather, who raised him and his brother since they were young boys, is recovering from a heart attack and needs surgery to prevent a second attack. The patriarch of the Petronides dynasty knows nothing of Dimitri’s lover, he only knows that he wants his grandson to settle down and give him a great-grandchild before he dies. He tells Dimitri that he will only have the operation that will save his life when he announces his engagement to the woman that he believes will make him a good wife. Like a good Greek son, Dimitri promises his grandfather that he will do so.

Xandra Fortune awaits Dimitri’s return with both excitement and dread. It has been weeks since she has seen him, but she has to tell him some news that he may not be very happy to hear. She also must tell him all of the secrets that she has kept from him the past year; secrets that include her real name of Alexandra Dupree, where she is from and why she has kept all of this from him. She is not sure which will come as a greater shock to him, the truth about her identity or the fact that she is pregnant with his child.

The exchanging of information doesn’t go as either of them planned and they are both left feeling angry, betrayed and heart broken. Each is too caught up in their own emotions to think rationally and both say and do things that they will forever regret. Can two people who were never truly honest with each other get over a betrayal that cut to the bone and learn to love and trust each other again?

Lucy Monroe delivers yet another emotionally heart wrenching story in The Billionaire’s Pregnant Mistress. As I feel that I have nothing in common with the majority of the characters in Harlequin Presents series I normally do not read them, however when they are written by Ms. Monroe I don’t see a billionaire or a world class model. I see two people in love; nothing more, nothing less and I think that is something to which we can all relate.

On more than one occasion I wanted to climb into the book and throttle Dimitri for being such a MAN, and an arrogant one at that, but when he redeems himself he does it in a BIG way and I couldn’t help but love him. This book cements a place for this author on my favorite’s list and ensures that if Lucy Monroe writes it, I’m gonna read it.
